1955 Jaguar XK140

First up we have a Jaguar XK140 from 1955, a car that exudes class and style.

Coming from a time when Britain led the way in automotive innovation, the XK140’s 213PS (157kW) 3.4-litre straight-six meant it could tickle 120mph flat out. Rack-and-pinion steering and telescopic shock absorbers made it an accomplished corner carver, too.

The X140 boasted more interior space than the X120 it replaced and included high-tech features like… flashing indicators.

1961 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato

If you can peel your eyes from the Jag, the sight of a 1961 Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato will be your reward.

The beautiful Zagato body doesn’t just look exquisite, its aluminium construction helped shave 45kg, and its aero design gave the Aston a staggering 154mph top speed – in the 1960s.

At the beast’s heart, you’ll find a 3.7-litre straight-six that pumps out almost 320PS (235kW).

1991 Honda NSX

The original 1991 Honda NSX, is famously Japan’s first supercar – as a loafer-shod Aryton Senna happily demonstrated at the Suzuka race circuit during the car’s launch.

The scream of the NSX’s high-revving VTEC 3.0-litre 276PS (203kW) V6 was a defining sound of the ‘90s and meant the Honda could reach 168mph flat.

Yet the NSX combined its mid-engine performance with everyday usability in a way that had contemporary Ferrari engineers rethinking what a their next mid-engined, junior supercar – the 355 – should look like.

1955 Porsche 356 Speedster

So special is this 1955 Porsche 356, that we’ve seen fit to bring it back once again for GRRC Breakfast Club.

Introduced in 1954, it was the brainchild of American Porsche Importer, Max Hoffman, who recognised his home market’s demand for a lightweight open-top sportscar.

With a removable windscreen, simple folding roof and bucket seats, the 356 was seen as the ideal weekend racer and is seen by many as the iconic 1950s sportscar.

The Porsche proved a particular hit in the sunnier climes of California. In all, just 36,767 examples were ever built.
